ABOUT THE CONVENTION
Meridian Energetics & Its Clinical Application – Direct & Effective Acupuncture Treatments
Meridian energetics is effective in treating a wide variety of illnesses and pain conditions. This class will be a review of the Greater Meridian Energetic Units and demonstration of a clinically useful approach to working with them.
The knowledge gained from this seminar will be applicable to real patients in the modern clinic. Students will be able to apply these principles and protocols in their own clinics.
Saturday
- Review of the Greater Meridian Energetic Units: Taiyin/Yangming Jueyin/Shaoyang, Shaoyin/Taiyang
- Review of the Greater Meridians’ Five Element associates.
- Review of the Greater Meridians’ ZangFu correlations.
- Comparison of meridian energetic and TCM protocols for specific conditions.
Sunday
- Discussion of specific points and point combinations that are clinically useful from a meridian energetic point of view – examples of how to apply this in treatment.
- Case reviews – Participants may bring cases, which will be reviewed to formulate a meridian style treatment.
ABOUT KATHLEEN POOLE
Kathleen T. Poole, L.Ac. has been in practice since 1989. She specializes in meridian energetic style of acupuncture. In 2007, Michael Max saw her work while they were traveling together in Yangsuo, China. She taught at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City as a clinical supervisor for fifteen years, resigning five years ago to expand her own practice. She has also served on the faculty of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy both in its Shiatsu program in Newington, and in Wetsport, CT. Ms. Poole is a guest lecturer for classes at several colleges in the southeastern Connecticut area. Most recently she has been studying Chinese Herbal Medicine with Dr. Huang Huang of Nanjing.
